Consignment Items

How our Consignment works

Selling your clothes on consignment with love it again, is a great way to make money for new stuff, declutter and free up space in your wardrobe. It’s like having your own shop, with out the overheads, and more convenient & cheaper than eBay, web sellers & markets. Unlike internet purchases, you can try before you buy, to see what the items looks like on, to save the nightmare of returning unfitted items and trying to recuperate your hard earned money.

Our closet therapy sheet has a greatly structured way of helping, if you feel overwhelmed at the thought of deciding what to keep and what to resell.

What & which brands we accept?

We accept Women’s Designer and high end labeled clothing, as well as shoes and handbags, and like to offer fresh new items each week. (We love near new or new with tags, and aussie labels too)

Items that are clean, ironed and fault free can be dropped in any time. (See our opening hours)

If it's old, not in great condition, and something you wouldn't buy, it's probably not worth submitting.
    * Items must be less than 2 years old – or a classic
    * No used swimwear, underwear or basic cotton items (like T-shirts, singlets - things that age quickly)
    * Must be dry cleaned or cleaned according to label instructions

Any alterations made to clothing must be disclosed for obvious reasons

Examples of what we call designer labels:

Alannah Hill, Bracewell, Bettina Liano, Country Road, Cooper Street, Charlie Brown, Carla Zampatti, Diesel Industry Denim, Guess, Karen Millen, Kirrily Johnston, Mimco, Morrissey, Marc by Marc Jabocs, Oroton, Saba, Scanlan Theodore, Simona, Sass N Bide, Wayne Cooper, Witchery, Zara & Zambesi.

How we price the items

We set the prices (give us your ideas if you like) and we will decide if it is reasonable. As with all second hand dealers the general rule of thumb is that, if it's still practically new with or without tags then roughly 50% of the rrp, is a good guide, this can be a bit of a task as we don’t always know exactly what the customer has paid, whether they got it on sale or as a present or in a warehouse clearance, therefore we rely on guess work.  We also look at how unique the product is and if it is currently being sold at a discount at retail outlets. Obviously we want to beat that price.

We then pack up (in order of drop off dates) and pay you half of the selling price for all the items sold, at the end of the following month.

Authentic Vs Fakes:

Prada handbags - it can be difficult to id the really good fakes from the real deal. That said, if you want premium money for an authentic Prada bag, we would ask you to bring the receipts or proof of purchase, this will make everyone much more comfortable, other wise we would assume it is a fake, and it would only fetch a fake price.

How long will my items stay on the racks for sale?

If items are priced right, the right customer with money pops in and they fit into the item as they like, they should sell within a month which is why we keep them to the end of the following month. So its best to drop them in early in the month, so by the time we get them on the racks, they could be there for a full 7 – 8 weeks, dropping them off later in the month, may mean as little as 4 weeks. If they don't move by a further 25% or so, as we want to ensure you don’t have to drag them home. What if they don't sell?If your items do not sell after the consignment period, we will let you know and you can decide what you want to do. You may choose to donate them to us for our sale section, or hang on and try again (as the problem may even be seasonal with people not wanting to buy winter clothes in summer, etc).Although if it's a great piece, it should sell..
